Founding Partners
The two founding partners, Rodrigo Guimarães and Elizabeth Rothfield worked together in the Portuguese financial sector for three decades. In 2003, they founded Explorer Investments, today the leader in Portugal, as an independent Private Equity Fund Management company.
In January 2021, after the passing of Mr. Rodrigo Guimarães, the founding partner Elizabeth Rothfield became CEO of Explorer Investments and President of the Board.

Investment Team
The Investment Team accumulates in-depth knowledge, competencies and relationships with key sectors such as investment banking, consulting and industry. Apart from the Founding Partner, the other three partners are dedicated to each of the Business Areas and guarantee stability, consistency and quality.
Support Team
The support team manages the day to day running of the Management Company and all of Explorer’s Funds.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is currently made up of seven people. Non-executive members are prestigious professionals who support the activities of the Management Company and its Business Areas.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is responsible for the investment and divestment decisions of the funds managed by the Management Company.
