Maria has seven years of experience in the private equity industry and is a member of the Corporate Development team, focusing on positioning flagship funds, developing new thematic and opportunistic initiatives, and strengthening institutional relationships.

EXPERIENCE

Before joining Explorer, she did a 9-month internship with the Global Markets team of Novo Banco. In 2019 she joined Explorer’s Growth Capital team having been responsible for the analysis and execution of investments for Explorer Growth Funds. From 2022 to year end 2025 she worked at the Private Equity Buyouts team having focused on analysing and executing new investments and monitoring portfolio companies.

EDUCATION

Maria has a degree in Economics from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and an intensive course in Finance taken at the London School of Economics.
