Explorer Investments is investment advisor to Discovery Portugal Real Estate Fund. The Fund was created in 2012, having acquired more than 40 assets, mostly mortgage loans and difficult-to-recover loans, in the Portuguese hospitality and tourism real estate market. It has implemented active asset management, including investment in repositioning assets through improvement and differentiation strategies that resulted in significant value creation – with an initial investment of 635€ currently valued at a GAV of around 1,184M€.
Among the assets repositioned to date are Six Senses Douro Valley, Praia Verde Boutique Hotel, Vilamonte, Azor and Furnas.
