Explorer was founded in 2003 by Rodrigo Guimarães and current CEO and President of the Board, Elizabeth Rothfield. They shared a 30-year working history in financial services until Rodrigo passed away in 2021.

During the last two decades of their working relationship, they built Explorer into what it is today: the leading alternatives asset fund manager in Portugal.
