Rodrigo Achirica is a senior executive and board member with more than 25 years of experience across asset management, private banking, corporate development, and financial services governance. Currently, Rodrigo serves as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Mutuamad Inversiones, S.A., the investment holding company of Grupo Mutua Madrileña, where they manage the Group’s strategic participations in asset and wealth management businesses. In this capacity, Rodrigo oversees Mutua Madrileña’s investments in leading Spanish platforms, including EDM Gestión, Alantra / Orienta Wealth, Alantra IM, and other regulated entities in asset management, wealth management, and investment services. He also serves on multiple boards within the Group, acting as Vice Chairman of EDM Gestión and as board member of asset managers, investment firms, and pension fund managers.

EXPERIENCE

ExperienceRodrigo brings extensive experience in M&A, integration processes, and corporate governance, having led or supervised numerous acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and post-merger integrations within the Spanish financial sector. His expertise spans executive management, regulatory frameworks, risk management, compliance, and board governance, including direct engagement with financial regulators such as the CNMV, Banco de España, and SEPBLAC.

EDUCATION

Rodrigo holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB) in Madrid, an LL.M. from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Law degree from the University of Valladolid. He is bilingual in Spanish and English.
